Discount cruises are another option for finding affordable or low priced deals.  A discount cruise is basically when the company cuts the prices temporarily for a seasonal special or in order to promote business.  This works great for those who are on a small budget but still want to go on an amazing cruise line.  Just like with the last minute cruises, you have to jump on the special while it is still going on.  The discounts do not usually last very long and they get taken up fairly quickly.   
Use an online service to find the cheapest cruise deals.  There are many resources available on the web that will give you access to the listings of the most affordable cruise openings.  Many travel agency websites work with the cruise lines and earn a commission; therefore they list the prices affordable enough so that they can earn the income as well.  Many of them also offer a guarantee that if the trip is canceled or something happens to ruin the vacation, they will reimburse you for the trip or provide an alternate trip. 
Choose your cruise lines wisely.  You need to make sure that they are reputable and will hold up their end of the bargain.  Depending on which company you book through, you could end up paying a large deal of money.  However, be advised that you will get what you pay for, so you might have to pay a little extra to get the best vacation.  Make sure that you read the reviews of previous customers before making a commitment.
