Personal Injury Claims
It is clear that our society has become a nation obsessed with the suing culture. In this we have become no different than the US, and it is especially worse because all this has lead to the most ridiculous legal system. Take for example the health and safety laws; they have become so strange that it is rather stupid. All common sense has left England and gone out to sea.
The thing that fuels the market is also the personal injury claims. Here you can go about suing people and claiming funds. It does make sense if you have an accident at work or such, but when do we draw the line with the personal injury claims and say that now it has gone too far? Indeed we can almost claim for anything, and it wouldn’t be surprising to find that you can claim if your pet was injured.
People run companies and often people make mistakes. What personal injury claims say is to throw forgiveness out the window and instead get all the financial benefits you can. Admittedly there are circumstances that require you to take action and whereby you are rightly justified to make a personal injury claim. Some of the Western countries do not incorporate this type of system, and the reason for that is that they can understand how easily it can be abused.
People are no longer taking responsibility for their own actions; instead it is someone else’s fault. And indeed that is what has happened. You can see the stories all over the paper, where a guy decided to sue M&S for falling on a grape in the car park. Now that is taking things to an extreme, when people do not feel responsible for their own personal safety.
Stupid things like that also mean that the legal system is jammed with personal injury claims, instead of dealing with crime punishment. And furthermore, whose money is it that pays for this? It is the taxpayer, especially if it is a personal injury claim against a government body, like the NHS.
It is so sad to see what money has done to our society, and what people fail to understand is that the personal injury claims don’t just take a day or two. They will drag on for months and some for years, as all the correct procedures and paperwork has to be done. Indeed the country is run on common law with no common sense, and the personal injury claims are just a great reflection on how a nation can actually self-destruct. And there is no going back.
People are always going to have a fear of getting sued. Thus they will ensure that all the paper in the world is brought along, so that the companies and individuals can make sure that they have covered their own backs. When does it all end? When common sense and self-responsibility are thrown out the window?
