Wedding Insurance

With all the bills you come across at the end of the month that you have to pay, it is the insurance premiums that you do not look forward to paying or seeing on the desk in front of you at all. There are many people that do not enjoy paying for their telephone and the water bill, but even after paying these you at least know where your money is going. It is not so simple with insurances. The premiums that you pay on your insurances each month just fall into a black hole, and you never see them ever again for as long as you live. It is only when something goes wrong that you realise you have insurance. Only then do you see the wonderful things that they can do.

So, the question is: do you need wedding insurance? Well, the answer to that is simple: if you are not going to get married, then you won’t need it. The other thing is that we all know how expensive weddings can be. When someone even just mentions wedding insurance when you are busy settling the dozens of wedding bills, there is absolutely no way you will be able to keep that smile on your face if you come across another expense.

If you think that wedding insurance is totally unnecessary, what are you going to do when your supplier goes out of business only a week before your big day? Be honest with yourself and ask if you will be able to find a replacement, and also, will you be able to get the deposit that you have put down on the supplier that has gone out of business? Just imagine if the groom injures himself in a football game and has to spend a few days including the wedding day in hospital. What then?

Ok, this all sounds a bit extreme, like something out of a Soapie. You will be surprised just how often these things do happen. Once you think about these things that could ruin your day, paying off a small premium each month will not be that much of a big deal.

So how much should you expect to pay on wedding insurance?

Well, this all depends on what type of insurance policy you are going for. You must also keep in mind that when it comes to what the policy covers, it all depends on the type of policy it is. When you sign up for a wedding insurance policy, it is important that you look at what is protected. The main things you should look at are:

  • Does it cover a damaged or a lost dress and also the groom’s outfit?
  • Does it cover damaged or lost wedding rings or damaged or lost wedding gifts?

This is your big day and it is important that everything is going perfectly. The last thing you want is for something to ruin your big day. In the end, the decision is all yours. Think about it carefully.
